On December 1, 2019, it will be 20 years since UNESCO granted the Beemster Droogmakerij the World Heritage status. To celebrate this, the Beemster Light Festival is being organized from 1 to 20 December. The festival opens on December 1 at 4:30 pm on the Market Square with singing, dancing and a laser show. From then on, during evening hours throughout the Beemster, various light objects can be admired for 20 days. Furthermore, during the festival, the 4 centers of De Beemster take turns in the spotlights during the festival. Special events are organized here.
